For the past few months I have been collecting bottles and cans from friends and neighbors. I have used the cash from returnables to purchase socks for those in need. My last collection raised $202 which was enough money to purchase 114 pairs of socks. I took the socks to the Crossroads Mission in Detroit where I gave them to those at the soup kitchen. It was great to see how a new pair of socks can brightened someone’s day.
